The Commissioner of Lobbyists is responsible for investigating alleged violations of the Act or the Code of Conduct, denying or cancelling a lobbyist’s registration where the Act or Code has been breached, and ordering, upon application, that some or all registration information be kept confidential. The Commissioner may also recommend changes to the Code of Conduct.
The Lieutenant Governor in Council shall appoint a person under the great seal to be the Commissioner of Lobbyists.
The Commissioner of Lobbyists should possess the following core competencies:
The Commissioner of Lobbyists is required to work a minimum of 10 hours per week.
The person appointed shall hold office during good behaviour for a term of 5 years and may be reappointed for further terms.
