The board shall appoint at least five chiropractors who are not members of the board, one of whom will be appointed to serve as chairperson, and the minister will appoint at least two persons who are not chiropractors to represent the public interest.

Panel members are only required if there is a disciplinary matter or upon the call of the Chair. A disciplinary matter will require approximately one week of dedicated time (hearing, deliberations and writing of the decision).
Of the members first appointed to the disciplinary panel, one half will be appointed for a term of two years and the remainder for a term of three years and all subsequent appointments of members will be for a term of three years. Notwithstanding the term of his or her term, a member of the panel continues to be a member until he or she is re-appointed or his or her replacement is appointed. Persons appointed to the panel may be reappointed.
