The mandate of the Board is established under Section 8 and Section 9 of the Provincial Apprenticeship and Certification Act and includes responsibility for:

Pursuant to section 7(1) of the Apprenticeship and Certification Act, the Board holds a minimum of four meetings annually and may hold special meetings when considered necessary by the Chair or a quorum of the board. Meetings are typically held in March, June, September, and December and may be in person or virtually. The date for the next Board meeting is confirmed at the end of each Board meeting.
Pursuant to section 5(2) of the Apprenticeship and Certification Act, appointments shall be for a 3 year term.
The Provincial Apprenticeship and Certification Board is seeking applications for the following positions:
Expressions of interest are being sought from individuals who possess the experience and qualifications identified in the board profile. Consideration will be given to a variety of demographic factors to ensure the board is representative of the population they serve.
The Employer Representatives should have experience working as an employer, business owner or senior manager (e.g. director, vice president or higher); and
The Employee Representatives should have experience in the skilled trades or related organized labour groups.
