The Disciplinary Panel is the body from which an adjudication tribunal is chosen to hear complaints concerning practice that have been forwarded by the registrar.
The board shall appoint at least 12 individuals who are not board members, including one who will serve as chairperson. In addition, the minister shall appoint at least four individuals, also not board members, to represent the public interest. Together, these appointees shall form the Disciplinary Panel.
For the purpose of addressing complaints referred to the Disciplinary Panel, the chairperson of the Panel shall establish an adjudication tribunal composed of three persons: two of whom shall be members and one person appointed by the minister. The chairperson of the Disciplinary Panel shall also designate one of the members to serve as the chairperson of the adjudication tribunal.
Diversity in the backgrounds, skills and experience of appointed Disciplinary Panel members can enhance the effectiveness of the Panel. Examples of such backgrounds may include:

Members of the Disciplinary Panel meet when matters are referred to them for a hearing.
Members to the Disciplinary Panel shall be appointed for a term of three years. Notwithstanding the expiry of their term, a member of the Disciplinary Panel continues to be a member until they are re-appointed or their replacement is appointed. Persons appointed to the Disciplinary Panel may be reappointed.
The Disciplinary Panel is seeking to fill four positions to represent public interest. Members of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador will not be considered for public interest positions. Expressions of interest are being sought from individuals who possess the background, experience and skill-set identified above, and who can bring unique persepctives to the table. Consideration will also be given to a variety of demographic factors to ensure the board is representative of the population they serve.
