To advise the Minister on priorities for action, monitoring progress, the development and implementation of an evaluation plan for the Provincial Cancer Control Policy Framework.
The Committee shall be comprised of 12-15 members, including a Chairperson, appointed by the Minister of Health and Community Services.
Diversity in the backgrounds, skills and experience of appointed Committee members can enhance the effectiveness of a Committee by bringing a wider range of perspectives and knowledge. Examples of such backgrounds may include:

The Committee will meet at least every three months, or at the call of the Chair. Meetings are face-to-face, however teleconference and/or videoconference services are available to members who are unable to travel, if requested.
A member holds office for a term of three years and is eligible to be re-appointed. Where the term of office of a member expires, he or she continues to be a member of the council until re-appointed or replaced.
Members of the Committee will serve without payment for their services, but their travel and other expenses associated with their duties as members will be reimbursed by the Department, in accordance with the government travel guidelines.
The Cancer Control Advisory Committee is seeking to up to fill 3 positions which are set to expire October 30, 2016. Expressions of interest are being sought from individuals who possess the background, experience and skill-set identified in the board profile above and who can bring unique perspectives to the table. Consideration will also be given to a variety of demographic factors to ensure the board is representative of the population they serve.
